1.  CHANGE OF WINTER TRAINING VENUE

As noted in my last newsletter ATLANTIS will moving from Westminster to the new SA AQUATIC and Leisure Centre at Marion Starting     this Tuesday evening.

We have managed to secure both Tuesday and Thursday sessions at the same time slots of 6:30pm to 8pm.

Tuesdays sessions will be available with five lanes in a 25m pool but the Thursdays sessions will be three lanes in a 50m pool.

We may be able to increase (or decrease) these lane numbers later depending on numbers.

It will also give those that prefer to train in a 50m pool, this option over the winter period.

Until we see the numbers that turn up on a regular basis the Executive has decided to keep the lane hire and coaching fees at the same price as that at Unley ie $5.00 per session, of course on top of this there will be your pool entry fee (see below).

We hope to see an increase in members taking advantage of this change in venue to get back into winter training.

Setting up this new centre and making all the arrangement for those that wanted access to this facility has resulted in a few “teething” difficulties, such as the delay in getting confirmation of our access to the lanes and times we required, hence the short notice of the change. Unfortunately the prices I quoted in the last newsletter were also not entirely correct despite having been issued by the staff.

Please note that I have confirmed the following prices. NOTE: The twenty book pass still the same which is good news as I think this will be the option most would be interested in. I have also confirmed that these are valid for twelve months, so If you attend two session per week you will need approx twenty six passes before we move back to Unley for Summer. So If you purchase a second book to cover the last few session you should still be able to use them when we return indoors next winter, (also gives you the incentive to return back to training next year!).

2.  IC 3 Entries due Now.

Entries for the third Interclub are due back with Joy by the end of THIS WEEK please see the attached form.

I did not see the final figures from today’s Interclub but it look like Adelaide Master came back with a vengeance and beat us today. Despite some outstanding swims by our swimmers, especially most of the newer “first timer”. Well done team.

We need more swimmers in the pool..remember we get one point for each swimmer that participates in these events.

Also we could field more relay teams  which gives double points.

So come on swimmers there are a lot of you who have been absent from these events recently, forget your football teams they have blown their chances for this season, with YOUR SUPPORT we could still win this year’s Interclub series.

Another point, as a matter of courtesy if you have nominated for an Interclub, but due to unforeseen circumstances are unable to make it to the event PLEASE contact Bec, myself, or call the Frog Fone (0438 802 594) and let us know ASAP, as it is very frustrating for the Club Captain (Bec) who has spent a lot of time preparing relay teams to suddenly have to rearrange them at the last minute when someone does not turn up and we do not know if they are coming or not.
